The Bible is an amazing piece of literature. But, it is more than just great literature. It is the great story of who God is, who we are, where we’ve come from, what we were made for, what went wrong in our world, and what God is doing about it through the mission and work of Jesus Christ. As J.R.R. Tolkein famously said, the Bible is a story of a larger kind, which embraces all the essence of fairy-stories. But this story has entered history and the primary world. There is no tale ever told that men would rather find was true, and none which so many skeptical men have accepted as true on its own merits. This story is supreme; and it is true. In it Legend and History have met and fused. As a result, we believe the Bible is one great unified story that has been revealed to mankind by God Himself in order to lead us to truth and life.

That said, we know that people can get lost and overwhelmed with the sheer depth and magnitude of the Bible. To read it all the way through in one piece? Wow, that seems like a daunting task in our busy world. Moreover, we also know how hard it can be to read through the Bible on our own without anyone to help guide or answer our questions. For these reasons, and so many more, we encourage everyone in our community, as a community, to participate in our Bible Reading Plan. The plan is designed to guide us, together, through the entire Bible in two years. Moreover, we have designed our community group study plan to dovetail with our reading plan in order to provide weekly opportunities to discuss, ask questions, and process through what we are reading and learning in community, while being guided by a trained community group leader. In this, we hope to foster a habit and love for reading the Bible that truly transforms our lives.

The Bible Project

As part of our Community Bible Reading Plan, we also encourage everyone in our community to take advantage of the videos and resources provided by the good people at the Bible Project. If this is your first time reading the Bible, or if you have questions about the Bible itself or how to get started, we would encourage you to check out their How To Read The Bible Series. Moreover, one of our pastors would be more than willing to meet with you and answer your questions. Please contact us if you would like to set something up.
